Boutique Christchurch distillery The Spirits Workshop — famous for their splendid gin and distillery tours — asked us to help them create a new brand for their micro-barrel single malt whisky. The whisky itself had been maturing for over three years, so this really was a challenge that doesn’t come around very often.
We developed a brand strategy for them built around the core insight of an iconic ‘old world’ product being created with new world ‘Kiwi ingenuity’ and NZ ingredients, in a bustling city centre distillery. To encapsulate this, we settled on a name, brand and identity that embodied this idea of twin legacies oscillating to create something truly unique.
