James Manttan joins Strategy Creative

Strategy Creative are thrilled to welcome James Manttan to the Wellington team, as Motion Producer.

James studied acting but switched sides of the lens 15 years ago. Since then he has been recognised for producing award winning campaigns for Tropical Tourism Queensland, MostFunTV and The Treaty of Waitangi. James loves new and emerging technologies and is passionate about Virtual Reality (VR).

In the age of technology, it’s important to consider how your brand operates across all different mediums, including motion. James’ expertise means we can consider motion throughout our design process and help you harness new technologies to bring your brand to life and connect with your audiences.

Here’s a fast five Q&A with James so you can learn a bit more about the man behind the smiling face:

What do you get up to when you’re not working?

Working on my feature film.

What excites you most about the future of motion?

The amount of choice we will have in the future around the type of content we want to create and the way we will be able to offer this content is what excites me. Being an early advocate and producer of VR means you’re able to see first hand this space grow and how the next generation of headsets and content is really going to shape the future of media consumption.

I’m also excited around how strategies for creating content have been changing. It's now more important than ever to invest in a strategy before creating content as the landscape and technology is changing almost monthly.

What’s your proudest moment to date?

The 360 Drax Project VR experience I produced while also producing their hit music video “Woke up Late”. Recently the band’s manager, Mike Ross, has been invited to visit with YouTube head office in the US to talk about the VR project.

What’s your creative superpower?

Super big ideas.

Favourite film of all time?

Cinema Paradiso.
