For the refresh of StarFlyer’s In-Flight Safety Video, Strategy was asked to come up with a new and creative concept to help set the brand apart from it’s competitors.
Strategy rose to the challenge and came up with the idea to create the first in-flight video in Japan to take place outside of an airplane cabin and instead take place in a jazz club. In fact, the idea was to completely rebrand the experience of flying on an airplane as being similar to the relaxing atmosphere of a laidback jazz lounge. For the shoot itself, actual StarFlyer airplane seats were brought to the Tokyo jazz lounge, Tableaux Lounge. In the end, we were able to create a unique safety video that exceeded the expectations of the client, in a setting that was until now, unseen in Japan.
