Longtime snowboarding champion, Antti Autti, is no stranger to Japan and the Sapporo Toyota Big Air event in Hokkaido.
Despite winning the event in 2008 and others around the world, Antti has more recently found himself immersed in backcountry powder snowboarding. With all of the excitement and pressure of big competitions, Antti finds a certain serenity in carving his own path down a mountain. However, Antti is not one to turn down an offer to participate in an event that is more about about the fun and joys of the sport. Strategy was there to document the trip, as Antti traveled around Sapporo visiting with fans, trying local foods and competing in the Big Air event.
